I’m no accomplished musician, by any stretch of the imagination, but I do consider music to be one of my great loves and biggest hobbies. Here’s how I keep involved.
The William & Mary Wind Symphony
I’m the president of the student organization end of the William & Mary Wind Symphony, the College’s wind band. I love it because I get to work and play with a ton of fantastic people on a regular basis– it’s one of the few activities I’ve participated in every semester since 2005. Below is a video of the group playing the College’s Alma Mater.
The William & Mary Brass Ensemble
This semester I’m also honored to participate in the Brass Ensemble at William & Mary, a faculty-coached group of four talented players and myself. We had a great Winter Recital just a few months ago. Here we are, wishing you a Merry Christmas. (I’m the one playing the tuba in the center.)
Independent Composition
Even though my primary instrument is the tuba (which I’ve played since 1998), I also dabble on the piano. I play a little bit but primarily use my keyboard abilities for little composition and arrangement projects. I’ll have a sample video or audio track up soon.
Additionally, I’m decently versed in audio and video recording, too. The clips you see above are a combination of my video editing and the excellent recording work of Christian Amonson’s CBA Recording, a great service based out of Williamsburg.
